My Poem

Our Generation
I remember the hanna badda days
where we would interact with each other
Outside—at the park
Within two minutes you'd meet your best friend
You guys are running up and down the field
Zig zagging in and out between your parents
Driving your mom and dad insane
They could never keep track of you
First you were here then you were there
You know why cuz were the chosen generation

Then all this high tech'y stuff show'd up
Our parents dont know how to use it
They leave the room for a minute
And the next thing you know its calling your name
You don’t know the dangers that it has
But you do know that you wanna touch it
You stretch your hand forward towards the screen
And the next thing you know---BOOM
Technology has taken over our generation

Time wasted everyday
Everything exposed
You are no longer hidden from the world
You find these virtual online lives that you can live in
 Like Facebook, MySpace, Twitter
You get so excited when you see that someone wants to chat
Or a new text message from your best friend---Twitter
Or accepting a friend request from people you have never even met
What is our generation coming too?

Our innocence is lost
Our minds are corrupt
We were heading down the fast track
Til technology came and slowed us down
Now what has our generation become
Writing our life stories for the world
To know how miserable we are
posting negative things that damage
Our image as the chosen generation
We have come so far
But yet look at our creation
We got nothing to show except
We were the chosen generation
